Kickboxing Euro Title: Daniel Zahra vs Jose Oliveria

 Daniel “The Jet” Zahra takes on Jose Oliveria at MFCC Dec. 7th

The island of Malta will be kicking on Wed. Dec. 7th when local kick boxer Daniel ‘The Jet’ Zahra will be taking on José Oliveira of Portugal for the Professional WKN European Kickboxing Championship in the evening’s main event. In addition, there will be 10 other exciting WKN (World Kickboxing Network) bouts on the international fight card featuring some of the organization’s top fighters.

Kickboxing has grown in popularity over the years in Malta with fighters such as Daniel Zhara being ranked among the best in the world. There are also several other up-an-coming Maltese kick boxers who are making a name for themselves around the globe

The Maltese card is being organized by Isaac Chetcuti, Adrian Axisa, and Noel Mercieca, who are international promoters with WKN and are associated with Bling Promotion Company. The card is being promoted as Gladiators Fight Night 2 and will be held at MFCC (Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre)

It will be a historic night in Malta as Zahra moves over to professional kickboxing. The main event will consist of five three-minute rounds for the European WKN Super Lightweight Title. The doors open at 8pm with ticket prices costing 15 euros and 35 euros for the VIP section. The undercard bouts will feature K1, kickboxing, and boxing contests.

The WKN is a professional Muay Thai and kickboxing organization which is represented in about 120 different countries, making it one of the world’s biggest professional sports sanctioning bodies. The organization was established back in 1994 as an offshoot of the ISKA (International Sport Karate Association). The two organizations went their separate ways in 1998.

    What an event this was. I had a great evening and it was topped off by Daniel Zahra taking home the title.

    I hope we will see more events like these in Malta in the future.
